| Obverse description | Within the nickel-plated steel centre, a detailed view of a traditional Korean multi-tiered pagoda gatehouse set upon a stone fortress wall, rendered against a dark field. The Hangul legend reading 조선민주주의인민공화국 (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) curves along the upper periphery of the inner disc. The denomination '30 WON' appears in Latin script at the base of the centre. The outer brass-plated ring is decorated with an ornate repeating foliate and scrollwork pattern in relief. |
