| 表面の説明 | Within a linear circle, the quartered shield of Grand Master Juan de Homedes impaled with the cross of the Order of Saint John, surmounted by a Maltese cross. The surrounding legend, in Latin, reads the Grand Master's abbreviated title and name. The composition is typical of Renaissance hammered coinage produced under the Knights Hospitaller. |

Juan de Homedes served as Grand Master from 1536 to 1553, his tenure defined almost entirely by the aftermath of the Order's expulsion from Rhodes in 1522 and the desperate consolidation of Malta as a defensible base. The 30 tari denomination was a heavy silver issue specific to Hospitaller coinage on Malta, occupying a tier above the everyday tari but below the scudo — a denomination that reflected the Order's need to project financial credibility to both bankers and mercenary suppliers across the Mediterranean.
Homedes died in 1553, the same year this coin was struck, making late issues under his name among the last authorized before the succession of Claude de la Sengle.
