At the center, two clasped hands emerging from clouds grasp a bundle of arrows, symbolizing the union of the Frisian quarters. In each corner angle of the cross, a regional abbreviation appears in the field: OG (Oostergo), WG (Westergo), SW (Sevenwolden), and ST (Steden, the cities). The surrounding legend reads CONCORDIA · FRISIÆ · LIBERTAS, invoking the unity and freedom of Friesland. |
