| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is printed in the same red-coral and dark blue palette over an identical green maple-leaf underprint. A central rectangular vignette with a semi-circular upper field presents a panoramic townscape of Friedrichroda in winter, with snow-covered rooftops, a church steeple and forested Thuringian hills rising against a stippled red sky. A red ribbon scroll beneath the townscape carries the denomination in bold script lettering. To the left, the variety designation 'das grüne' is printed in blue, with two lines of verse text below in italic script; the series designation '1B' and a stamped serial number appear to the right. A lower ribbon arrow repeats the redemption guarantee. |

Friedrichroda was a spa town in the Thuringian Forest, and its notgeld issues were almost certainly designed with collector sales in mind — the resort trade made that a viable revenue stream. The "grüne" designation in dealer shorthand simply reflects the dominant ink color used to distinguish this from the other 30 Pfennig printings in the same 1920 series.
Thuringian municipal notgeld of this period was typically printed by regional printers on short runs, and condition varies considerably even among notes that never entered circulation.
