| Obverse description | Cream-toned note with a dashed and chequered black border enclosing a speckled underprint. The denomination '30 Pfg.' is printed in red and black Gothic script at upper left, flanked by a row of small diamond ornaments leading to a central vignette of a tall stone column monument topped by a standing male figure. The city arms of Suhl — a red shield with a castle gate and crossed rifles — appear at upper right in red and black.
