| Obverse description | The obverse displays a multi-line Arabic tughra-style inscription filling the entire field, comprising the sultan's titles and name. The mint name Baghdad (بغداد) and the accession year 1223 AH appear in the lower portion of the coin. The calligraphy is rendered in a bold, flowing Ottoman script characteristic of provincial hammered coinage of the period. |
