背面描述 Pluto and Proserpina, depicted as standing or seated figures, ride together in a quadriga of galloping horses moving to the right, alluding to the mythological abduction of Proserpina at Henna. A palm branch is visible above the group, and the scene is set within a dotted border. The legend MVN HENNAE appears in the upper field, identifying the issuing municipium of Henna. The composition reflects the city's close religious association with the cult of Ceres and the myth of Proserpina, for which Henna was celebrated throughout the ancient world.

附加信息

Henna — modern Enna, in the Sicilian interior — was one of the last towns to resist Roman absorption of the island's Greek civic coinage traditions. This bronze belongs to a municipally issued series produced after Rome's reorganization of Sicily following the end of the Third Servile War, when Spartacus's revolt had only recently collapsed and Roman administrators were tightening control over provincial minting. The town's long association with the cult of Demeter gave it unusual religious prestige, which may have bought it the administrative latitude to continue issuing civic bronze this late.

The RPC I 661 assignment places it firmly in the triumviral period, a time when central Roman monetary authority was fractured between competing factions.
