| 正面铭文 | 30 NO BANCO DO BRAZIL se pagará ao portador TRINTA MIL RÉIS valor recebido. (Translation: In Bank of Brazil will be paid to the bearer Thirty Thousand Reis amount received.) |
| 背面描述 | Printed in red-orange, the reverse is dominated by three large circular guilloche rosettes arranged horizontally, each enclosing the numeral "30" at its center within concentric rings of fine lathe-work. The two flanking rosettes are framed by additional ornamental guilloche borders with quatrefoil corner motifs, while a larger central medallion of intricate geometric lathe-work fills the space between them. Printer's imprint appears in the lower margin. |

| 备注 |
The third Banco do Brazil was a privately chartered institution established in 1851, distinct from both the original 1808 bank and the state-controlled successor that followed. By the late 1860s it was operating under increasing competitive pressure from the Banco do Brasil chartered in 1853, and the overlap of similarly named institutions created genuine confusion in commercial practice — a problem that plagued Brazilian banking well into the imperial period.
The American Bank Note Company contract for this series reflects the preference among Brazilian issuers for New York engraving work over domestic alternatives, a pattern established early and difficult to break even as local printing capacity improved. The 30 Mil Réis denomination is among the less commonly encountered values in the surviving P#S252 series.
