| Obverse description | Within a prominent incuse diamond-shaped (lozenge) frame set against a plain field, a right-facing draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia is depicted in baroque style, her hair loosely curled and falling to the shoulder. The denomination numeral '30' appears in the lower point of the lozenge. The Latin legend encircles the outer field, reading 'MARIA THERESIA D G R I GE HU BO REG', abbreviated titles identifying her as Empress of the Holy Roman Empire and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia. The overall design is characteristic of the Hall Mint's distinctive lozenge-portrait coinage of the mid-18th century. |
