Hungary's 30 Kreuzer denomination was part of Maria Theresa's sweeping monetary reforms following the Seven Years' War, which had left the Habsburg treasury badly strained. The Vienna government pushed standardization across all crown lands, but Hungarian issues retained their own distinct mint administration under Kremnitz — one of the oldest continuously operating mints in Europe, active since the 13th century.
The 1767 start date aligns with the broader Theresian monetary ordinances of that year. Kremnitz's output for this type was substantial but uneven across the five-year run.
