| Reverse description | The glorified and crowned radiant Madonna is depicted seated within a square cartouche at centre, the infant Christ resting on her left arm; the KB mint mark of Kremnica appears divided at either side of the cartouche. The Latin legend is arranged in four segments around the square, with the date appearing in the lower segment. The devotional Marian iconography reflects the deep Catholic piety of the Habsburg monarchy and the traditional patronal imagery of the Hungarian kingdom. |

These 30 Kreuzer pieces were struck during the years immediately following the War of the Austrian Succession, in which Maria Theresa had fought to secure her Hungarian throne against Bavarian, French, and Prussian claimants. Hungarian magnates had pledged military and financial support at the Diet of Pressburg in 1741 — famously rallying to her cause — and the subsequent coinage from Hungarian mints reflects the administrative consolidation that followed. The Kremnitz mint carried the bulk of this production.
H#1693 and H#1694 represent distinct varieties within the type, differentiated by mintmaster marks.
