Eberhard Louis spent much of his reign financing an extravagant court at Ludwigsburg — built in deliberate imitation of Versailles — and the coinage of the early 1730s reflects a duchy perpetually stretched thin. The 30 Kreuzer denomination was a workhorse of south German trade circulation, but issues under Eberhard Louis are complicated by his reliance on court Jews and private banking networks to manage mint contracts, a practice that introduced inconsistencies in alloy control across short-run series.
Eberhard Louis died in 1733 with no legitimate heir, ending the main Württemberg line and triggering a succession that brought the Catholic branch to power — abruptly terminating this type mid-series.
