| Obverse description | Two ornate heart-shaped cartouches, each bearing the Nuremberg eagle, are displayed side by side within an elaborate Baroque scrollwork frame. Mascarons appear above each cartouche, and the overall composition is richly decorated with foliate and strapwork ornament in the high German Renaissance-Baroque style. A cartouche at the top of the field contains the legend RESPUB NURENBERG F.F. in two lines. The mint date appears in the lower portion of the field between the two shields. The coin's border is dentilated. |
