| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark ink on pale paper with an elaborate geometric border of interlocking chevron and checkerboard patterns filling the four corners. The central field is divided into three vertical registers: two octagonal landscape vignettes — one at left showing birch trees and a rural structure, the other at right showing a tree-lined countryside scene — flank a central cartouche in a stylised Art Nouveau house-shaped frame bearing the hand-lettered inscription 'Notgeld der Gemeinde Windegg' in Gothic script. Denomination numerals '30' appear in each corner, with the word 'HELLER' repeated along the upper and lower margins; to the right, a circular official municipality stamp reads 'GEMEINDE-VORSTEHING BEZIRK MAUTHAUSEN O.-ÖST.
