Opmerkingen

Austrian municipal notgeld of this period is easy to dismiss as a curiosity, but the Rohrbach issues were a genuine response to the acute small-change shortage that paralyzed everyday commerce across Upper Austria following the collapse of the imperial monetary system. Gemeinde Rohrbach — a modest market town in the Mühlviertel — turned to L. Haase in Linz for printing, a regional firm that handled a significant volume of Upper Austrian emergency issues in 1920.

The two signatories, Josef Schreiber and Rudolf Reumüller, were municipal officials whose authorization gave the note legal standing within the community. The "b" suffix in the Jaksc/Pick reference indicates a variant within the 30 Heller denomination — worth confirming against the serial or overprint details before cataloging.
