| 备注 |
Pöchlarn is a small market town on the Danube in Lower Austria, and like hundreds of Austrian municipalities in 1920, it issued its own emergency small change — Notgeld — to compensate for the near-total disappearance of metal coinage after the war. The Habsburg currency system had collapsed under wartime inflation, and the new Republic lacked both the metal and the institutional capacity to restock circulation quickly enough. Local councils filled the gap themselves.
The designer credited as Seliger produced work for several Lower Austrian municipal issues during this period. Whether this reflects a single local artist or a commercial supplier working across multiple commissions is not firmly established.
