Kreisbach is a tiny Lower Austrian village — its population never exceeded a few hundred — and this 30 Heller note is among the smaller-denomination Notgeld issues from the St. Pölten printing house of Gutenberg, which handled a substantial share of municipal emergency currency across Lower Austria in the early 1920s. The Heller itself was already a dying unit by 1920, rendered nearly meaningless by postwar inflation, which makes the practical utility of this note genuinely questionable even at the moment of issue.
The JPR470e series designator suggests multiple Kreisbach denominations were issued concurrently, this being one of the lower values in the set.
