| 正面描述 | The upper portion of the note is occupied by a detailed woodcut-style vignette of the Hofgastein valley landscape, with alpine mountains, a river, and a village church rendered in dark ink. The lower half presents the denomination text in a mixed letterpress layout, with the issuer name 'Thermalbad Hofgastein' in large red script and the numeral '30' repeated in red at either side of the foot. The note is framed throughout by a decorative border of small red heart motifs, and the artist's name 'Reisenbichler' appears in small print at the base. |

| 背面描述 | The upper portion of the reverse is centred on a bold two-colour vignette of a thermal fountain, its arching water jets rendered in red against a solid black silhouette of the basin and pedestal. The denomination '30 Heller' appears in each upper corner in black script. Below the vignette, a red script inscription advertises the spa town's therapeutic properties, followed by a lower panel in black text setting out the redemption pledge of the municipality, signed by the Bürgermeister Bachbauer, with validity stated to 31 December 1920. The heart-motif border framing the obverse is repeated on all four sides. |

Hofgastein's 30 Heller notgeld was among the wave of small-denomination emergency currency issued by Austrian municipalities following the economic chaos of the post-WWI period, when coinage virtually vanished from circulation due to hoarding and metal shortages. H. Riesel's Salzburg press handled a considerable volume of regional notgeld during this period, making the print quality fairly consistent across the run. Reisenbichler's design credit is noted, though local notgeld designers of this period are almost never documented beyond a surname.
