| Reverse description | A dignified left-facing bust of President William V.S. Tubman is rendered in high relief at the center of the field, depicted in civilian dress with suit and tie. The inscription 70TH. appears to the left of the bust and BIRTHDAY to the right, flanking the portrait at mid-field. The circular legend PRESIDENT WILLIAM V.S. TUBMAN arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 1965 is prominently displayed in the lower exergual area, flanked by decorative tildes. |

| Additional information |
Issued to commemorate William V.S. Tubman's unprecedented sixth consecutive presidential term, this coin was struck the same year Liberia amended its constitution to remove term limits entirely — a provision engineered specifically to keep Tubman in office. He had governed since 1944, and by 1965 his administration controlled virtually every institutional lever in the country.
The thirty-dollar denomination corresponds directly to his years in office at the time of issue — a vanity denomination with no precedent in Liberian monetary history.
