| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by Canadian artist Rebecca Yanovskaya and engraved by Alex Tirabasso, is struck on an innovative undulated coin planchet that imparts a dynamic sense of movement to the composition. At left stands the Peggy's Point Lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, rendered in precise architectural detail, while at right rises the pinnacle of the Peace Tower above Centre Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The central field features a richly detailed panoramic depiction of Kicking Horse Canyon in the British Columbia interior, uniting three iconic Canadian landscapes in a single harmonious composition. Selective colour application and the undulating surface work in concert to evoke the flowing motion of the Canadian flag above the scene. The legend CANADA 2019 is inscribed across the upper field. |
