Obverse description The full national arms of Antigua and Barbuda occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a rising sun and sugar mill tower, supported by two fallow deer rearing on either side, and surmounted by a helmet with a pineapple crest. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto EACH ENDEAVOURING ALL ACHIEVING. The circumferential legend ANTIGUA & BARBUDA INDEPENDENCE NOVEMBER 1981 arcs around the upper portion of the field, while the date 1982 and the denomination 30 DOLLARS appear in the lower field below the arms.

Reverse description The central field depicts a dramatic scene of George Washington and his troops crossing the Delaware River, rendered in bold relief; Washington stands prominently in a flat-bottomed Durham boat crowded with soldiers, arm raised, with additional vessels and a townscape visible in the background amid breaking ice floes. The legend 1732 GEORGE WASHINGTON 1982 arcs across the upper field, with 1732 and 1982 flanking the name on left and right respectively. The inscription INAUGURATION 1789 is positioned along the lower rim, commemorating Washington's first presidential inauguration.
