| Reverse description | The reverse presents a richly coloured, multi-layered underwater tableau of Canada's Pacific West Coast deep-water reef environment, viewed from the seafloor looking upward toward the luminous turquoise surface. Dominating the composition is a large Atolla jellyfish rendered in vibrant bioluminescent hues, while several yelloweye rockfish and a high-fin dragonfish navigate among coral formations, sponges, and assorted vertebrate and invertebrate organisms populating the reef floor. The scene is rendered using detailed engraving enhanced by vivid selective colouring, evoking the phenomenon of biofluorescence observed in deep marine habitats. The engraver's initials JK appear within the design field. |
