| Obverse description | This cast rectangular silver bar-coin features two principal design elements. In the upper portion, a raised circular medallion bears the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as engraved by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the legend ELIZABETH II, 30 DOLLARS, and COOK ISLANDS surrounding the portrait, and the date 2014 below the bust. Below the medallion, the inscriptions 1000g COIN / FINE SILVER / 999.9 are struck in the field. In the lower portion, a detailed relief of the full-rigged tall ship HMAV Bounty is depicted under sail. A rectangular cartouche at the foot of the bar bears the melter and assayer hallmark. |
