A rectangular depiction of the Tokelau flag appears in the lower central area beneath the denomination. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Finely detailed bust of Saint James the Greater (Iacobus Maior) facing slightly left, rendered in high relief with an elaborately sculpted flowing beard. A gilt gold halo encircles the saint's head, rendered in selective gold plating against the darkened mirror field. A fish symbol appears to the left of the figure, and a scallop shell — the traditional pilgrim's attribute of Saint James — is depicted both to the right and at the lower beard area. The curved Latin legend IACOBUS MAIOR arches across the upper field. |

Tokelau's coins are struck under New Zealand's authority and issued largely as collector vehicles — the territory has no meaningful numismatic infrastructure of its own. This 300-gram piece belongs to a multi-coin apostle series released in 2014, a format that became commercially saturated in that decade as Pacific micro-jurisdictions competed for the novelty bullion market.
KM#84 is the center panel of a triptych-style release; the full composition only resolves when all three companion pieces are displayed together.
