The portrait is rendered in high relief against a frosted field, enclosed within a raised inner border. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA arcs around the upper periphery, while the weight specification 1 KILO, the fineness mark 99999 Ag, and the denomination 30 DOLLARS are inscribed along the lower periphery. The engraver's initials JC appear discreetly below the Queen's truncation. |

| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by Ing Ing Jong, features a colorfully enameled composition depicting a mature ox and a young calf standing together on rocky ground, both rendered in warm brown and cream tones with fine artistic detail. A stylized plum blossom branch extends across the upper right of the field, while a traditional rural landscape with snow-capped hills and a farmstead occupies the lower left in uncolored relief. To the upper left, a 1-gram pure gold inset bears the Chinese character 牛 (Ox) within a square cartouche.
