Part of a broader wave of fractional gold issues aimed squarely at the collector novelty market, this piece carries no meaningful monetary history — Liberia has used the U.S. dollar as its de facto currency since the early 2000s collapse of the Liberian dollar, making its domestic coinage essentially a licensing vehicle.
