| 背面描述 | The reverse of the cardboard disc bears an impressed or printed coat of arms of the Spanish Republic, centrally positioned within the plain field of the disc. The shield displays the quartered arms of Castile, León, Aragon, and Navarre with the Granada pomegranate in base, supported by two standing figures and surmounted by a mural crown. The motto PLUS ULTRA appears beneath the arms in a straight legend. |

Spain's copper coinage nearly vanished during the Civil War as hoarding stripped small denominations from circulation entirely. These cardboard discs — issued by the Republican government and various municipal and regional authorities — were a stopgap, not a policy. The Pablo Iglesias issue references the founder of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, who died in 1925, making his selection a pointed political statement by a Republic increasingly dependent on left-wing support.
Cardboard survives poorly. Moisture, folding, and the simple indignity of pocket wear destroyed the vast majority.
