| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a charming cartoon-style depiction of a plump tiger, rendered in full color with holographic accents, busily engaged in pickling and preserving vegetables — a traditional activity associated with the Minor Snow solar term. The tiger stands beside a large ceramic crock filled with vegetables such as cabbage and radishes, while cured meats hang in the upper right field. The inscription 小雪 (Minor Snow) appears in the upper left, and the denomination 3元 is inscribed in the lower right field in raised relief against the uncolored silver ground. |

The Twenty-Four Solar Terms series draws on the ancient Chinese lunisolar calendar system formally inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2016. Minor Snow — Xiǎoxuě — marks the period roughly spanning November 22 to December 6, when temperatures in the Yellow River basin historically drop enough for precipitation to fall as snow but not yet accumulate in significant depth. The People's Bank has used this series to anchor a recurring numismatic program around seasonal agricultural knowledge that guided Chinese farming communities for over two millennia.
The 3 yuan denomination is peculiar to this format and does not circulate.
