Beschrijving keerzijde A large stylized numeral '30' dominates the central field, with a giant panda depicted emerging from behind the numeral, rendered in fine relief against a frosted background. Bamboo leaves and stalks frame the composition on either side, evoking the panda's natural habitat. The fineness inscription '1/4 oz Ag.999' appears in the upper field in Latin characters. The denomination '3元' (3 Yuan) is inscribed in the lower field in Chinese characters, completing the design.

Aanvullende informatie

China's Panda bullion series launched in 1982, making 2012 the program's thirtieth year — though the anniversary calculation is slightly awkward, as the series skipped 2001 entirely, the only year in its history without a new issue. This 3 Yuan denomination was struck specifically for the anniversary rather than as part of the standard annual bullion run, placing it outside the normal collector series hierarchy.

The 3 Yuan face value has no practical monetary function and was assigned purely to distinguish commemorative pieces from the regular 10 Yuan pandas of equivalent size.
