Reverse description A bold Cross of the Order of Christ occupies the center of the reverse, its four arms terminating at the inner circle with pointed finials, and a quatrefoil rosette placed in each quadrant formed by the cross. The design is bold and deeply struck, with the cross rendered in high relief against a flat field. The surrounding Latin motto IN HOC SIGNO VINCES (In this sign thou shalt conquer) encircles the design, separated by star-shaped stops. A milled bead border frames the entire reverse, consistent with the obverse treatment.
