San Marino has no central bank and issues no currency of its own — its monetary agreement with the European Union permits it to mint euro coins but explicitly excludes banknotes. A paper note denominated in nothing, issued by San Marino in 2025, is therefore almost certainly a philatelic or numismatic souvenir item, not legal tender in any meaningful sense.
