Obverse description Oval punch stamp bearing a crowned letter R flanked by the divided date 16–10, with the letter L interposed between the two date elements. A smaller supplementary stamp applied in the field displays the denomination in Roman numerals (III), indicative of the ad hoc striking method employed for siege coinage. The design is spare and utilitarian, reflecting the emergency circumstances of the 1610 siege of Jülich.
