正面描述 Laureate bust of Emperor Ferdinand II facing right, set within a wreath of leaves forming a circular border. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the imperial style, with the emperor depicted in armor or robed attire. The legend, inscribed in Latin, commences at the 12 o'clock position and reads around the periphery. The date 1625 is incorporated within the legend, split as 16 and 25 on either side of the portrait.

附加信息

Ferdinand II issued this multiple thaler from Graz during one of the most politically charged moments of his reign — 1625 falls squarely within the opening phase of the Thirty Years' War, and Ferdinand was simultaneously pressing his military campaign against Protestant forces while imposing re-Catholicization across his hereditary lands with brutal efficiency. Large silver multiples of this kind were not everyday commerce; they were instruments of prestige, used for gifts, payments to military commanders, and court display.

The Graz mint operated under Ferdinand's direct authority as Archduke of Inner Austria before his elevation to Emperor, and continued striking under his name well into the imperial period. Davenport's EC II classification places this among the broader Austrian multiple thaler series, with the A3107 designation indicating a scarcer die pairing within the type.
