| Opschrift voorzijde | DEO OPTIM MAXIM IMPER ROMANO FOEDERI POSTERISQ |
| Beschrijving keerzijde | The entire reverse face is occupied by a fourteen-line commemorative inscription in Latin, rendered in capital letters and filling the field from top to bottom with no central device. The text records the siege of Stralsund in 1628 by Imperial forces beginning on 12 May (DIE XII MAII), the repeated assaults sustained by the city, and its ultimate deliverance from the siege on 24 July (DIE XXIV IULII) through divine grace and the aid of the renowned northern kings. The inscription concludes with the civic formula S:P:Q:S:F:F: (Senatus Populusque Stralsundensis Fieri Fecit). A beaded border frames the legend at the rim. This reverse is a rare and notable example of a commemorative historical text coin issued to celebrate the city's resistance and liberation during the Thirty Years' War. |
