| Reverse description | Central field features a large eight-pointed Maltese Cross in high relief, its points tapering elegantly outward with concave notches between each arm, characteristic of the Order's iconography. The date digits '1', '6', '8', '0' are distributed one in each quarter of the cross's field, recording the year of issue. A double beaded border encircles the central device, separating it from the surrounding Latin legend, which reads continuously around the periphery. The overall composition is bold and heraldically precise, consistent with the hammered coinage tradition of the Valletta Mint under Grand Master Carafa. |
