| Description de l’avers | At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia with wings lowered, struck in high relief against a polished field. The eagle is encircled by a beaded border, with the Cyrillic legend `БАНК РОССИИ` (Bank of Russia) arching beneath it. Along the upper rim runs the denomination `ТРИ РУБЛЯ` (Three Roubles). Below the beaded border, the lower arc of the legend provides the precious metal fineness `Ag 925`, the date of issue `2009 г.`, the fine metal content `31,1`, and the Moscow Mint monogram `ММД`. |

| Description du revers | At centre, within a stylised arched frame, a detailed relief depiction of the Church of St. Theodore Stratilates on the Brook (Ц. Федора Стратилата на Ручью), a celebrated 14th-century Novgorodian monument. To the left of the church, a group of armoured warriors is rendered in low relief, evoking the medieval military heritage of Velikiy Novgorod. The upper arc of the border inscription on a matted background reads `ВЕЛИКИЙ НОВГОРОД И ОКРЕСТНОСТИ` (Velikiy Novgorod and its Suburbs), while the lower arc carries the dedication `Ц.ФЕДОРА СТРАТИЛАТА НА РУЧЬЮ` (St. Theodore Stratilates Church on the Brook).
