Obverse description At centre, the national coat of arms of the Russian Federation in relief: a double-headed eagle displayed with wings elevated, each head crowned with a small imperial crown, both surmounted by a larger crown connected by a ribbon; the eagle's dexter talon holds a sceptre and the sinister talon an orb. Upon the eagle's breast, a shield bearing the equestrian figure of St. George in a cloak, slaying a rearing dragon trampled beneath the horse. The legend 'РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ' curves above the arms in two lines, with the denomination '3 РУБЛЯ' and date '2011 г.' inscribed below; along the lower rim appear the mint mark, the precious metal designation 'Ag 999', and the fine metal content '31,1'.
