Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the State Emblem of the Russian Federation — a double-headed eagle displayed, each head surmounted by an imperial crown and the ensemble topped by a larger central crown, with a sceptre in the right talon and an orb in the left. The shield on the eagle's breast depicts Saint George on horseback slaying a dragon. The legend РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ arcs along the upper periphery in Cyrillic characters, while БАНК РОССИИ, 3 РУБЛЯ, and 2017 г. are inscribed in the lower field. The silver fineness Ag 925 appears to the lower left of the eagle and the weight indicator 31,1 to the lower right, accompanied by the Saint Petersburg Mint monogram (СПМД).

Aanvullende informatie

Part of the Bank of Russia's long-running folklore series, this issue draws on the Frog Princess tale — one of the oldest narratives in the East Slavic canon, documented by folklorist Alexander Afanasyev in his 19th-century collections but rooted in oral traditions centuries older. The series has been a consistent vehicle for Russian silver commemoratives since the 1990s, producing dozens of types across multiple denominations.

Mintage on folklore issues in this series typically ran between 3,000 and 7,500 pieces, keeping secondary market premiums firm but not extreme.
