| Obverse description | At centre, the two-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia, after the design by Ivan Bilibin, is displayed within a beaded circle. A semicircular legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) curves below the eagle within the inner circle. The upper rim legend reads «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE ROUBLES) and the date «1999» appears at the lower rim. To the left of the central device, the alloy designation and fineness «Ag 900» are inscribed in the field, while to the right appear the fine metal content «31,1» and the Saint Petersburg Mint mark «СПМД». |
