Additional information

This piece belongs to Russia's late-1990s series of collector silver commemorating the centenary of works first performed at the Mariinsky Theatre. Raymonda, a ballet in three acts with music by Alexander Glazunov, premiered in St. Petersburg on 7 January 1898, choreographed by Marius Petipa. The Bank of Russia issued multiple denominations tied to this anniversary, with the 3-rouble pieces struck at the Moscow Mint (MMD) in proof finish for the collector market — circulated examples are essentially nonexistent.
