Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the 250th anniversary of Moscow State University's founding by Mikhail Lomonosov in 1755, under a decree by Empress Elizabeth. MGU was established on January 25th — now celebrated in Russia as Tatiana Day and the unofficial holiday of students nationwide. The university's original home was on Red Square in a repurposed pharmacy building before Catherine the Great's administration relocated it to purpose-built premises on Mokhovaya Street.
