| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a detailed relief depiction of the Soviet robotic lunar rover Lunokhod-1 resting on the lunar surface, rendered with technical precision. Behind the rover, colorized images of the Earth and the Sun are incorporated into the design, providing vivid contrast against the otherwise monochromatic relief. The inscription 'ЛУНОХОД' (Lunokhod) is positioned in relief along the left portion of the circumference. The composition commemorates the historic Lunokhod-1 mission, celebrating Soviet and Russian achievements in space exploration. |

Lunokhod ("moonwalker") refers to the Soviet robotic lunar rover program — the first such program to successfully land and operate rovers on the Moon. Lunokhod 1 touched down in November 1970, Lunokhod 2 in January 1973. Both were carried by Luna spacecraft and operated via radio commands from Earth, with Lunokhod 2 covering roughly 39 kilometers across the lunar surface before its mission ended. This 2022 issue commemorates that program, part of Russia's ongoing Space series from the Moscow Mint.
