3 Roubles Archangel - White regime

Archangel fell under Allied intervention in August 1918, and the branch of the State Bank operating there issued notes under the authority of the Supreme Administration of the Northern Region — the anti-Bolshevik provisional government backed by British forces. This 3 Rouble note is part of that emergency emission, produced while the region was effectively a military occupation zone with its own disconnected monetary supply.

The Northern Region's currency circulated alongside British military scrip and Tsarist-era notes, creating a chaotic exchange environment. Allied withdrawal in 1919 left the White administration without its main external support, and the Bolshevik reconquest in early 1920 rendered these notes worthless almost overnight.
