Kienast 352 is one of several pattern strikes produced in 1926 as the German Reich experimented with denominations and specifications for the nascent Weimar coinage system. Patterns from this period rarely entered formal consideration beyond internal Reichsbank evaluation, and most surviving examples trace back to official distributions to mint staff or state collections rather than any public release.
The .500 fine silver alloy matches the standard ultimately adopted for circulating Weimar silver, suggesting this piece sat closer to production approval than many of its contemporaries never did.
