Obverse description A stylized Imperial eagle displayed with wings spread, head turned to the left, rendered in a bold, sculptural Art Nouveau manner. The eagle stands atop the large numeral '3' in the lower field, its talons resting on decorative foliate elements. The legend 'REICHS MARK' arcs around the upper periphery in widely spaced capital letters. The overall design is bold and low-relief with a broad, unadorned field.
