背面描述 A standing female figure, representing the personification of Naumburg or a local allegorical figure, holds a heraldic shield bearing the town's coat of arms. The surrounding legend references the nine-hundredth anniversary of the founding of Naumburg an der Saale, with the dual dates 1028 and 1928 prominently featured. The design is executed in a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of Weimar-era commemorative coinage, with fine detail in the drapery and shield device.

附加信息

Issued to commemorate the 900th anniversary of the founding of Naumburg, this coin was part of the Weimar Republic's extensive commemorative program that produced dozens of regional and historical issues throughout the late 1920s — a program critics at the time derided as a cynical revenue mechanism dressed up as civic pride. The Naumburg issue is among the more modest in terms of surviving population.

The .500 fine silver content was a deliberate post-inflation compromise, adopted after 1924 to conserve bullion while maintaining the appearance of a silver coinage.
