正面描述 Central field dominated by the large, elaborate crowned coat of arms of the Spanish Habsburgs, displaying the quartered escutcheon with the castles of Castile, lions of León, the arms of Aragon, and the pomegranate of Granada, all surmounted by an imperial crown. The shield is flanked by the spread wings of the Imperial double-headed eagle, characteristic of Charles V's combined Austro-Burgundian and Spanish heritage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition, reading CAROLVS V IMPERATOR. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of hammered coinage of the period, with some weakness at the edges.

附加信息

Charles V never set foot in the Spanish mints that struck his coinage — he delegated monetary administration entirely while consumed by the Imperial diet at Regensburg and ongoing conflicts with Francis I of France. The 3 Reales denomination itself was an awkward intermediary, minted in relatively small numbers compared to the dominant 4 and 8 Reales, and Cal#29 is among the scarcer attributed strikes of his reign.
