| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bears the quartered arms of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, consisting of a crowned escutcheon divided into four quarters displaying the dynastic charges of Austria and Lorraine, surmounted by a large archducal crown. The circular legend reads LEOP. II. A. D. A. GRAND. DI TOSC. N., abbreviated from Leopoldo II Arciduca d'Austria, Granduca di Toscana, arranged around the periphery. The shield is rendered in fine engraved detail with clear heraldic division, and the overall composition is well-centered within the coin's field. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Leopoldo II ruled Tuscany through the revolutionary turbulence of 1848–49, during which he briefly fled to Gaeta under Austrian pressure before being restored by Habsburg troops in 1849. His copper coinage continued largely uninterrupted through the restoration, making the political chaos invisible in the numismatic record. The long date range of this issue — nearly three decades — means die wear and minor variety differences are common across the run.
