Bundi was one of the smaller Rajputana princely states, and its wartime fractional currency issues are among the more obscure local emissions from the period. The 3 Pies denomination — a fraction of an anna, itself a fraction of a rupee — reflects genuine small-change scarcity during the early 1940s, when metal coinage was being diverted to the war effort and low-denomination coin shortages hit rural markets hard.

Pick S221 is poorly documented in most references, with surviving specimens rare enough that reliable population data is essentially nonexistent.
