| Obverse description | Central field displays the interlaced royal cypher 'FF' (for Friedrich Franz) rendered in an ornate cursive script, surmounted by a large ducal crown with elaborate jewelled arches. The monogram occupies the full height of the field and is executed in a refined calligraphic style characteristic of early nineteenth-century German coinage. The coin has a reeded border encircling the entire design. |
